If time and space allow, we highly recommend getting as many of the formal photos done as possible before the ceremony to ensure that no one feels rushed later on, and that you can enjoy your wedding and guests as much as possible! This can be done if time is built into the schedule about 1 to 1.5 hours before the ceremony starts after the bride and groom are done getting ready.
Here is a sample schedule to show how a wedding day can pan out when the bride and groom do not do a first look:
1:30 - 3:00 (Sarah) Detail photos/Bride and bridesmaids get dressed
1:30 - 3:00 (Ben/second shooter) Detail photos/Groom and groomsmen get dressed
3:00- 4:00 (Sarah) Bridesmaid Photos/Bride's Family Photos
3:00- 4:00 (Ben/second shooter) Groomsmen Photos/Groom's Family Photos
4:00 Bride and Groom are tucked away before guests start arriving
5:00 - 6:00 Cocktail hour. Joint family, joint bridal party, Bride + Groom photos
When the bride and groom do a first look, however, we can finish all of the formal photos before the ceremony and everyone can enjoy the cocktail hour with their guests.
